Aptos Labs announced on Twitter today that the Aptos Network had been compromised. The news was confirmed through an official communication from the Aptos Foundation, as reported on Aptos Labs’ Twitter account.
The breach has led to a fraudulent tweet concerning an APT airdrop. Aptos Labs has urgently warned its followers and the wider community not to engage with any suspicious tweets or click any links provided therein.
According to Aptos Labs, the blockchain itself remains uncompromised.
The nature of the compromise remains unclear at this time, and it is unknown how many users may have been affected or misled by the fraudulent airdrop announcement.
Aptos Labs and the Aptos Foundation are expected to provide further updates as they work to resolve the situation and ensure the security of their network. Neither had responded to CryptoSlate’s request for comment at press time.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
