In recent lifestyle news, retired football legend Ronaldinho found himself in the spotlight as he denied any involvement in an alleged cryptocurrency scheme during his testimony before a Brazilian congressional committee.
The ex-Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star, celebrated for his 2002 World Cup victory with Brazil, passionately refuted claims of being linked to the 18K Ronaldinho cryptocurrency pyramid scheme, accused of deceiving investors with promises of incredible 400 percent returns.
Wearing dark glasses and a black beret, the 43-year-old former player explained that his name and image had been exploited without his consent by the 18K Ronaldinho firm.
Ronaldinho revealed that he had signed a marketing contract back in 2016 with a US company called 18K Watches, unaware that images from that campaign were later used to promote 18K Ronaldinho.
Despite discovering his name’s misappropriation by the company, he refrained from taking legal action, asserting that he himself had fallen victim to the alleged scam.

It’s worth noting that Ronaldinho’s absence at two previous committee hearings had raised concerns, prompting lawmakers to consider involving the police to ensure his testimony.
During the two-hour hearing, Ronaldinho chose to exercise his right to remain silent, declining to respond to several questions.
His brother and business representative, Roberto de Assis Moreira, had previously testified before the same committee just last week.
The former football star faced criminal charges in connection with this case back in February 2020, following a complaint from hundreds of victims, alleging losses exceeding 300 million reais, equivalent to approximately $61 million.
Days later, Ronaldinho made headlines when he was apprehended in Paraguay for using a counterfeit passport, leading to his detention for over five months before eventual release.
