As NFTs continue to reshape the gaming landscape, Yuga Labs, the brains behind the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club, is gearing up to introduce a new chapter in this domain. The company has announced the launch of “HV-MTL Forge,” an engaging workshop-building game set to release on June 29.
Introduction to HV-MTL Forge
In HV-MTL Forge, players are tasked with constructing and customizing a workshop. This process lays the groundwork for the evolution of their HV-MTL robot NFTs. The objective is to create an impressive space that garners community votes, propelling players up the leaderboard.
The HV-MTL NFTs hold a significant role in this venture as they provide the keys to the game. These were offered to owners of the Sewer Pass NFTs back in March, solidifying their place in the game’s ecosystem.
HV-MTL NFTs have staked their market claims, debuting for 0.88 ETH (approximately $1,570) on the OpenSea secondary marketplace. Their significance is further illustrated by the estimated $38 million worth of secondary trades generated so far.
Gameplay Features
As the game’s website outlined, HV-MTL Forge engages players through four key stages: Build, Flex, Fight, and Evolve. Each phase brings its own set of challenges and tasks. In the building stage, players lay the foundation, constructing unique environments for their HVs and paving the way for their evolution.
Flexing lets players show off their creative genius in designing workshops. As part of this process, players are encouraged to put their creations on display, attract community votes, and climb up the leaderboard.
The game also involves an element of risk and adventure. According to the website, players must “Take risks and face the dangers of the rift to discover blueprints, gather materials, and craft upgrades.” This adds a layer of strategy to the game. Players prepare their HVs for evolution in the final stage, culminating in an intense cosmic battle.
The Golden Key: Triumph and Trade in Dookey Dash
Dookey Dash, accessible to approximately 26,000 holders of the Sewer Pass NFT, was live from January 19 through February 8. Each player devoted nearly 28 hours on average to the game, amounting to a collective playtime of over 80 years. During this period, players participated in a staggering 7.5 million runs.
The prestigious “Golden Key”, an individualized reward for achieving the top score in the NFT game Dookey Dash, was secured by Twitch influencer Mongraal, who sold his triumphant Dookey Dash key for an impressive sum of 1,000 ETH, which translates to approximately $1.6 million.
The imminent launch of HV-MTL Forge by Yuga Labs represents a significant stride in NFT-integrated gaming. Its blend of engaging gameplay, strategic mechanics, and NFT utility makes it an intriguing addition to Yuga Labs’ journey in the Web3 space. The community now awaits what the future holds for HV-MTL.
