The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. *Oct. 6, 11800 Block of 80th Avenue: A complainant reported the theft of the catalytic converter from their vehicle left in the parking lot of their residence. The theft occurred sometime overnight between Oct. 5 and 6. No witnesses or surveillance video available.
*Oct. 6, public safety building, 11375 84th Avenue: A complainant reported that they had received a call from two males who identified themselves as being with the Crown Counsel office. The callers advised the complainant their Amazon account had been compromised, and they needed to deposit $8,400 into a Bitcoin machine, to ensure their identity had not been stolen. The complainant complied, but when they were not reimbursed as promised they realized they were the victim of fraud and ceased contact with the males. The complainant was advised to contact the bank regarding the fraudulent activity.
*Oct. 7, 11800 Block of 88th Avenue: The manager of two apartment blocks reported that mailboxes had been broken into sometime overnight between Oct. 6 and 7. The manager was not sure if any mail had been stolen, but indicated this was the fourth incident over the past two weeks. Police to continue additional patrols in the area.
*Oct. 9, 7700 Block of 115A Street: A complainant reported that sometime overnight, the catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle parked on the street in front of their residence. There were no witnesses or surveillance video. Nothing else was stolen from the vehicle. A file number was provided for insurance purposes.
