Major blockchain technology company, OKX, has added support for Bitcoin NFTs to its burgeoning ecosystem. Going forward, users on OKX can trade the these popular digital collectibles on its NFT marketplace, and secure them in the OKX wallet.
Through the recent update, the OKX Wallet can support BTC taproot addresses through its browser extension, with mobile support currently in development. This future update will allow users to view and trade Bitcoin NFTs from anywhere, even on the go.
Launched in late January, Bitcoin ordinals have played a huge part in the latest chapter in NFTs. They allow users to inscribe data onto satoshis, which are the smallest unit of Bitcoin, before minting them as non-fungible tokens. Currently, there are over 2.1 million inscriptions in circulation and their popularity continues to grow. Despite this, only a few marketplaces offer support for buying and selling these inscriptions.
OKX now hopes to address this issue on top of establishing itself early in this emerging market. Therefore, the upgrade to its wallet will allow users to import their Bitcoin addresses and view their inscriptions on a single interface as opposed to having to manage them separately on Bitcoin-only wallets.
It’s official.
Extending bitcoin into web3,OKX Wallet supports view and transfer of Bitcoin ordinals plus ability to mint and trade ordinals on our NFT marketplace coming soon

OKX Wallets Is Designed To Be Easy To Use
Commenting on the integration, Haider Rafique, chief marketing officer at OKX, notes, “Ordinals is an exciting development in the Bitcoin ecosystem. The OKX Wallet is designed to be the most interoperable and easy-to-use all-in-one crypto wallet. This meant we had to move fast to welcome the ordinals community and give them an easy way to store, manage, and soon mint ordinals within our wallet services. I hope this integration helps bring more people in to play with this new utility and discover new possibilities on top of Bitcoin.”
This integration makes OKX the first multi-chain platform to support this capability.
