- RippleX, announces the launch of a browser-based wallet designed for the XRP Ledger.
- Crossmark introduces a novel approach that is custom-made for the XRP Ledger.
In a recent Twitter post, RippleX, the development division of a prominent cryptocurrency payment company, used the platform to inform the public about the imminent launch of an eagerly awaited browser-based wallet designed for the XRP Ledger called Crossmark. The unveiling of Crossmark, a web wallet created in collaboration with Ripple, brings forth a range of features comparable to Ethereum’s renowned MetaMask wallet.
Crossmark is a browser-first digital wallet built on top of the #XRPL and it will provide an easy way to sign transactions and switch between networks.

Additionally, by introducing Crossmark, the developers aspire to transform how users engage with the XRP Ledger, facilitating enhanced accessibility and streamlined transactions within the decentralized ecosystem.
In contrast to XRP Labs’ XUMM wallet, which prioritized mobile functionality and did not pursue a browser-based solution, Crossmark distinguishes itself by striving to become the pioneer browser extension dedicated to bridging the gap between decentralized applications (dapps) and the XUMM mobile environment.
Bridging the Gap Between dApps and XRP Ecosystem
By incorporating functionalities reminiscent of MetaMask, Crossmark introduces a novel approach that is custom-made for the XRP Ledger. In addition, Crossmark offers XRP holders a smooth and intuitive experience utilising web browser extensions, enabling effortless management of their XRP transactions and seamless interaction with decentralized applications (dApps).
According to Crossmark, there is a growing desire among new projects developed on the XRP Ledger for a wallet that prioritizes browser compatibility. The developers anticipate an escalation in this demand as more developers and users transition away from the Ethereum ecosystem. Crossmark presents a comprehensive solution encompassing transaction signing and seamless network switching within the XRP Ledger. The browser-first design facilitates convenient network navigation and grants users access to various functions and services.
Just as MetaMask has significantly impacted the Ethereum ecosystem, Crossmark endeavors to bridge the divide between decentralized applications (dApps) and users within the XRP ecosystem. This integration aims to equip developers with a robust tool that enables the seamless incorporation of XRP Ledger features into web applications, fostering a more diverse and inclusive ecosystem of developer solutions.
Crossmark also places a strong emphasis on user security through the implementation of an encrypted keychain mechanism. This feature guarantees that sensitive keys are stored securely on the user’s computer, enhancing funds and personal data safety.
Beta Testing in Progress: Collaborating with XRPL Developers for Crossmark’s Refinement
Drawing inspiration from Ethereum’s MetaMask wallet, the developers have acknowledged the significance of a browser extension solution that simplifies the interaction with decentralized web applications. MetaMask has established itself as a fundamental tool within the Ethereum community, enabling users to engage effortlessly with smart contracts and decentralized financial protocols (DeFi).
With the introduction of Crossmark, the goal is to replicate this success within the XRP Ledger and establish a comparable gateway for XRP holders to delve into the expanding realm of dApps and financial tools. However, the specific launch date for Crossmark is currently unknown. As of mid-April, beta testing was initiated with a limited group of XRPL developers.
