SBI Holdings, a financial services company based in Tokyo, Japan, and a long-time partner of Ripple, has announced the launch of an NFT minting service on the XRP Ledger for the upcoming World Expo 2025. This initiative is part of the ‘EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet’ project, which includes a digital wallet app service connected to the Expo.
According to the official announcement, the service, dubbed “Myaku N!,” will be available through the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet, provided at the Expo in Osaka/Kansai. Users can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to receive free NFTs. However, the initiative adds an exclusive touch by limiting the service to 500 users.
World Expo 2025 Digital Collectibles
In a move to integrate blockchain technology into mainstream events, SBI Holdings will mint 920 XRPL-based NFTs for the World Expo 2025. These NFTs are part of the “MYAKU-N!” project, offering attendees unique digital collectibles.
Users can earn and collect NFTs by engaging in various Expo activities in the real world and online through the “MyakuMyaku Reward Program.”
The NFTs are accessible through MYAKU-N! digital wallets, which are commemorative and cannot be transferred or sold. Furthermore, participants can improve their standings by charging “Myakupe!”—the Expo’s electronic money—and engaging in other interactions at the event.
This service, starting July 1, allows users to collect original NFTs from the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet. Additionally, users can create their NFTs by uploading chosen images, making the experience accessible even for newcomers to the NFT space. The service aims to cater to the 28.2 million visitors expected at the Expo.
The NFTs will be viewable in real-time using the NFT explorer Bithomp. However, they will no longer be visible after October 13, 2025, when the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet will be shut down. Moreover, this initiative also includes additional benefits, lucky draws, and prizes through the “Myakumyakupon!” gift campaign to further engage users and provide opportunities to acquire rare NFTs.
The Future of Digital Collectibles
The SBI Group’s focus on XRP and NFTs highlights the potential for these crypto-related technologies to transform the industry. Ripple Partner SBI has announced the launch and minting of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the XRP Ledger for the 2025 World Expo in Japan, emphasizing their collaboration to introduce the Myaku N! NFT service.
Overall, this NFT initiative sets a precedent for using blockchain technology in mainstream events, showcasing the innovative applications of digital assets.
