Himachal Pradesh crypto currency scam: SIT searches 35 locations across 3 states

Raid on NewsClick: Mumbai Police conducts searches at activist Teesta Setalvad’s Juhu residence
Delhi Police’s Special Cell has conducted raids on 30 premises connected to online portal NewsClick and the houses of its journalists. The police also searched activist Teesta Setalvad’s residence. While some political leaders defended the raids, opposition parties criticized them, alleging that the central government was targeting journalists. The BJP argued that the investigation was already underway and the police were acting within the law. The raids were conducted based on a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
I-T searches at multiple locations
The income tax department in Bengaluru conducted searches on private organizations to uncover tax evasion. More than 15 teams of officials carried out searches on residences and offices of traders, including jewellers and private companies. The searches took place in various locations in the city. In a separate incident, Chinese PC maker Lenovo is cooperating with authorities after the Income Tax Department conducted searches at its premises in Gurugram and Bengaluru. Lenovo has promised to provide all necessary support to the authorities.
